Another Wonderful Stay!
Great accommodations! This was our fourth time staying here and each trip was fantastic. Cheryl and Jorge are great hosts. It was another great escape from the Canadian winter.
It was a pleasure to have you with us again. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Laid back atmosphere, comfortable and clean accommodations, lush landscaping, and with a gorgeous view...we didn't want to leave C-Shells! Traveling as a couple, we had everything we needed, and it felt like home.
I had a truly amazing stay here and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a scenic and tranquil stay in the islands. Cheryl went above and beyond several times to ensure I had a great trip and even introduced me around to a few people at the local beach bar. The people on the island are by far the friendliest I've ever encountered - within a few hours after arriving I felt like a local and was exploring the island with complete strangers turned new friends. Thanks Cheryl! I can't wait until my next trip.
The best place to stay on Long Island.
We enjoyed another perfect vacation at C Shells. The rooms are an ideal size and layout for a couple or family. Always clean, bright and airy with kitchen utensils, cook ware, extra linens and even beach towels. Everything you need for a few weeks away. There are laundry machines on site along with all kinds of relaxation amenities, hammocks, beach chairs, kayak and campfire on the beach. The property is beautiful with mature trees, all kinds of flowers that seem to be always in bloom and a sandy beach on a calm harbor, perfect for swimming, cooling off, sunbathing and especially watching the sunset across the ocean. The owners Cheryl and Jorge are the perfect hosts; Always there to answer questions about everything on the island but very respectful of your peace and quiet. C Shells is perfectly located close to a grocery store, gas station and several great restaurants. Long Island has the most beautiful beaches, friendliest people and a great assortment of restaurants.
The Real Bahamas
A couple of years ago I was looking for a place to go where my wife and I could feel relaxed and truly be right at home. C Shells and Long Island is the place for us. The quarters are clean, comfortable and accommodating, right in the middle of the island close to everything. Cheryl is super helpful, a sweetie and has become a friend. The locals in Salt Pond and the rest of Long Island are genuine, friendly folks. There's no better place to be.
The perfect palce to stay
C Shells is the ideal place to stay for a day, a week, or a month. The accommodations and grounds couldn't be more perfect. The unit we stayed in was immaculately clean, well-maintained, and had everything needed for total comfort and housekeeping. There are covered patios in the front and back that offer cooling shade from the morning and afternoon sun. The beautiful beach and swimming are just a few feet from the back door. While this alone is all you need, what really makes this outstanding are the hosts and their outgoing, most welcoming manner. You couldn't ask for more. But there is more: Long Island and all its splendid beauty, tranquility, and friendly people (not to mention the conch salad at Seaside Village)!
Feels Like Home
Our 9th visit to Long Island. First sailed there in 2006 and fell in love with the island and its people. Since 2008 we have stayed at C Shells because it just doesn't get any better... location, location, location, comfortable and well appointed accommodations. All that AND such reasonable rental rates. One can walk from one side of the island to the other in 15 minutes. Early risers can catch the sun rise and sunset on the same day. Cheryl and Jorge are simply the icing on top of this tropical cake.... we came as guests and left as friends. See you next year :)
A perfect stay on Long Island
I recently stayed at C Shells and I already can't wait to get back down there. Cheryl and her accommodations came highly recommended by a friend and I can completely see why...from the moment I got off the plane until the minute I left I felt completely relaxed and at ease. Cheryl was so helpful with recommendations and making sure that I had everything I needed for a most enjoyable stay. Her residence is in an excellent location almost equidistant to the north and south ends of the island making it an easy jaunt for sightseeing and all the beautiful beaches Long Island has to offer. The rooms are very spacious and completely equipped with anything you could need during your stay, including a full kitchen and all the necessities needed to prepare meals in your room. Within walking distance are some of the most beautiful beaches you can find and be sure to catch the spectacular sunsets just steps from your room over the water at night. During my stay I found myself already planning a return trip because of the people and beauty that surrounded me here...you will love this little piece of tranquility and all it has to offer!
Review for C Shells Guest Quarters
Making a room reservation at C Shells Guest Quarters for our honeymoon was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. My hubby and I were blown away the minute we stepped into our room. It was big and spacious and so clean. We had fun cooking our daily meals in the kitchenette. The bed was so comfortable that we could laze in it all day. We hardly had to use the aircon as the ceiling fans were cooling enough. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful and provided alot of privacy. Cheryl was very helpful throughout our stay. She checked in on us daily to make sure everything was fine, and even provided us drinking water as we did not have a car on the first day and were unable to lug back heavy groceries. When Cheryl found out it was our honeymoon, she offered to get us champagne. We opted for beer instead and she topped it off with a lovely congratulatory card. She also provided maps and directions and gave recommendations on the best beaches to visit (Dean's Blue Hole was our favourite) and also the places to eat (Chez Pierre and Forest Takeaway are a must!). C Shells Guest Quarters certainly way exceeded our expectations. Many thanks to Jorge and Cheryl for making our honeymoon a really memorable one!
C SHELLS GUEST QUARTERS REVIEW
We spent 17 days at C SHELLS GUEST QUARTERS and we could know the place. The resort is clean, well organized and very peaceful. Very good value for money. But there is something more, a caring and thoughtful attitude which is not easy to find elsewhere. You can perceive that from the very moment you get into the room. There are cold drinks waiting for you in the fridge, to quench your thirst at the arrival; there are cooling bags to keep your water cold and plastic wraps to protect your sandwiches, in case you want to spend the day outside; there are plenty of bath towels and bed sheets; plenty of kitchenware, just to mention a few. And there is Cheryl, the owner, a person of good will, nice to people, somebody you can have a talk with, somebody you can rely on. Generally speaking, there is kind of an agreement between the hotel and you: the hotel is responsible for the accommodation, any other trouble is your trouble and keep it for yourself. Sometimes it happens that your problem comes to the hotel knowledge (e.g., when you don?t have any bags because they were lost). In this case, the hotel sympathizes with you, but the trouble is totally yours and you have to deal with it. Cheryl is different, she really wants to help and she gets immediately into action to solve your troubles, providing you with very practical solutions. She will really go the extra mile to assist you. It is hospitality with help and assistance included, a rare merchandise nowadays. The only guest who could not feel at home would be the one who would dare to smoke inside the room.
We really enjoyed having you here and most of all are happy to hear that you had a great time on the island. Thank you so much for your kind comments.
Best place to stay in the Bahamas
Cheryl and Jorge are simply the best hosts you can ask for. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. C-shells is immaculate, and the beach is perfect for either a swim or to float with your favourite beverage. Speaking of the beach, you will have it all to yourself and it is only a few steps away from your suite.C-shells is our perfect heaven drop all our cares away and just be. If you want to travel to the Bahamas Long Island is the place to be.
Thank you Johanna. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to see you again soon.
Long Island is like a second home. Been to the island more than 2 dozen times, never tire of the place. First time at CShells Guest Quarters and we enjoyed it very much and would recommend it for sure. Will defInately stay there again.
Our Long Island Home Away From Home
Our second visit in as many years to Long Island and C Shells with our friends who have been coming here for more than 10 years. This year was for nearly a month. This is a perfect place for us. Each villa is self contained with fully equipped kitchen and access to gas BBQ that allows guests to easily prepare as many meals as they wish. Each unit enjoys a seaside patio for morning coffee only a few steps from the beach. Units are extremely comfortable and clean with full bathroom and comfy beds. Hosts Cheryl and Jorge make you feel welcome and at home. They are quick to provide information on places to go and things to do. A fun, friendly and casual atmosphere. Every sunset is spectacular and finds guests gathering on the beach for cocktails and conversation. Located centrally on the island with easy access to groceries, wine/beer/liquor, beaches, site seeing, hikes, snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboard said and restaurants. We wouldn't consider going anywhere else.
Pen Pals United
I surprised my wife for Christmas this year with the opportunity to meet her pen pal she has had for almost 45 years. They have never met in person until this visit in April 2017. They both had a great time, and loved every minute they shared together, and some of that time was at the C-Shells Guest Quarters. Andrea is from Long Island and still lives there. The quarters were exceptionally clean and came with all the amenities you need for your stay, plus the amazing views of the Caribbean. Cheryl was an amazing host and was so generous with her time, and knowledge of the Island. We would absolutely recommend the C-Shells for your stay in Long Island.
Great Location, Fantastic Hosts!
We've had the pleasure to stay with Cheryl at C Shells several times, always during Long Island's Regatta held in Salt Pond around the first week of June. As I do spend four days on the water photographing the Bahamian sloops in action, having a spot that is within easy walking distance of the regatta site but far enough away to provide a quiet escape from the 'hustle and bustle' down at the site is a treat. And Cheryl is the perfect hostess with whom we've developed a warm friendship. There are only four units on the over one acre site which Cheryl meticulously landscapes. Although significant damage was done to the property from Joaquin, the greenery has recovered. What didn't was the home that she and her husband Jorge were building. Significant damage was done and although it was difficult for them to do, they knocked it down, much to the benefit of their guests who now have a clear view of the water. The units are all very similar which I would classify as self-catering efficiencies, each consisting of a bathroom, and an open area with queen size bed, kitchen table, and a kitchen well supplied with necessary cooking equipment, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, etc. Although the units are air conditioned, you may not need to use it as a wonderful breeze flows through the units on all but the calmest days with ceiling fans there to assist just in case. The beach in front of C Shells is typical for west side beaches: shallow and very calm. There are kayaks available for those who might want to explore some of the cays close by or just paddle up to Salt Pond proper rather than walk. There are fantastic east (Atlantic) side beaches located in Salt Pond which are within a casual 15 minute walk.If you're going to Long Island and staying down north, I highly recommend C Shells. And tell Cheryl 'Hello' from Doc and Mrs. Fig!
Thank you. Such a great review from two special people.
Always a wonderful vacation. Great to get away from the Canadian winters. For a relaxed taste of the Bahamas Long Island and C Shells is a must. Sunset happy hour and authentic local restaurants perfect for capping a day exploring the island.
Thank you. We always enjoy having your here.
Awesome location, fantastic accomodations and wonderful hosts!
We stayed at C Shells for three weeks in December 2017. It is a great central location to do your island exploring from. The first bit of the stay was at C Shells and the later bit was at another accomodation Cheryl and Jorge manage. Both were increadibly clean and had everthing we needed to make our own meals. The hummingbirds and butterflies were beautiful to watch while having morning coffee on the patio. Flyfishing was also good right in front of the property. We loved the quiet beauty of long island and the friendly people. Cheryl and Jorge are great hosts. We will be back! Stu and Cheryl, Edmonton, Canada
You'll have a tough time finding a better place to stay on Long Island. The apartments are clean, fresh, spacious, have a/c, free wifi, a full kitchen, and are just a stone's throw from town. The private beach is beautiful, there's a wicked fire pit, and the hammocks alone are worth the visit. Cheryl is awesome and super helpful, and the price is pretty great too! We highly recommend C-Shells to anyone visiting the island.
We had a wonderful stay at C Shells.
